- The club offers a elevated firing line with targets out to 1000+ yard for members who have completed a Long Range Orientation. From this shooting line, club members can engage movable range steel set at various distances between 177 and 1015 yards. There are also target boards to staple paper targets too.
Elevated Firing Line Schedule: THIS SHOOTING LINE HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY CLOSED PER A C&D ISSUED BY THE TOWN OF GRANBY.
OUR LOWER FIRING RANGE IS OPEN AND MEMBERS CAN ENGAGE STEEL OR PAPER TARGETS OUT TO 500 Yards.
Please NOTE: The covered firing line AND the elevated firing line can be used on any day during range hours if no one is using the other line to shoot from. If a member arrives to use the firing line during its scheduled use time, the “off day” shooter must stop shooting and allow the arriving member to shoot. The member that wants to use the firing line during its scheduled use time takes priority, unless there is a special event taking place.
All members who wish to shoot from our elevated firing line MUST attend our Long Range Orientation. The purpose of the long range orientation is to ensure members can SAFELY engage targets from extended ranges. We need to ensure that members have the proper equipment and knowledge to SAFELY engage targets at extended ranges. The duration of the orientation will depend on the number of shooters and the shooter’s skill level and knowledge. Orientations should be held on elevated yard firing line scheduled days and times and should not cut into the covered firing line’s scheduled time.
Print and bring this form with you to your orientation:
Members must also bring their membership badge, rifle, match grade ammunition, equipment, data books and DOPE charts (ballistic phone apps are fine) needed to calculate a final firing solution for targets between 350 yards 1015 yards. IRON SIGHT SHOOTERS are welcome, but will be held to the same standards regarding proper equipment and knowledge of ballistics as optic shooters.
Schedule your orientation: Members wishing to attend a Long Range Orientation should email firstname.lastname@example.org. We will inform you of the next orientation when enough members require an orientation.
We will also announce orientations via email to members, on the club’s Facebook page and on our club calendar: http://granbybowandgun.club/event-calendar/
Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering time, services, and/or donations!
Please NOTE: Action pistol bays are NOT shut down when the elevated firing line is open unless stated otherwise or for special events.
